Our studio was formed in 2007 with the passion to help businesses succeed with functional, eye-catching design.

Sarah Orrett (our Founder & Creative Director) started out with only a handful of clients as a Freelance Graphic Designer, and has grown Somewhere Studio into a full-service agency that still has all the feels you get when working with a small business.

Today, we help many businesses make their mark on the world through personalised service and a sincere joy in seeing other businesses thrive.

A passionate designer with an eye for detail

Hi, I’m Sarah – the Founder and Creative Director of Somewhere Studio.

I love all things design, particularly great branding and functional website design. But most of all, I believe that being a designer involves helping businesses find their niche and engage with their audience through carefully-considered marketing and design.

My approach to design is much like being a problem-solver – drawing out your business’ needs with targeted questions and a refined creative process. This enables me to share your vision and message with the world through cohesive branding and thoughtful design. See some of my favourite projects here.

A local inspired by local surroundings

I’m a sucker for summer and sunshine! My beautiful surroundings from my beachside home in Newcastle NSW Australia plays an integral part in my personal design style. Combined with a bustling café scene and the relaxed vibe of a beachside town, I’m in designer’s heaven.

I had the opportunity to work with Somewhere Studio in the rebrand of my family business as it evolved into an after-covid era. Sarah even created new templates for social media which enhanced the look and feel of our socials 100% and has helped our business to look more professional and grow significantly even during the last year which has been challenging for everyone. Sarah from Somewhere studio helped me to bring to life a very special project for a non-for-profit organisation that I have been involved with for some time. Once I told her about this animal shelter in Colombia that was struggling to find donations and really needed help, she immediately said she could help us to create a new logo that will help this organisation look more professional and achieve better results. Sooner than we expected, Sarah sent us a couple of options for the new logo, and they were perfect! It was very hard to choose one, so we decided to keep both! But Sarah not only provided a new logo, but she also created graphic material, social media templates to help the animals of the shelter find a new home, and lots of amazing ideas to raise funds to assist the needs of the shelter. This new brand, graphic material and ideas that Somewhere studio provided, have had a big impact on this organisation and we will be forever grateful to Sarah for this!
